The BPO Then and Now..

The big idea of saving money by getting the work done from others originated in early 90's. The CFO's (chief financial officers) were keen on saving money on process which dint earn revenue to the organisation. The best example is the contact center, this part of the business needed investment, manpower and a lot of trainings to keep the service quality and hardly generated any revenue in measurable forms. This gave rise to the idea of outsourcing these tasks to the low cost areas mainly offshore places, where the labour cost is minimal and has the ability to adopt and develop the sort of talents necessary for the business. The companies dint have to do much investments for this. The word outsourcing itself did the magic for them in the developing countries. The entrepreneurs developed their own service models, governments offered tax savings and young generation fell in love with the service concept. Even though I have generalised a lot of things above but it is almost the sa...

Live the life in the rush!!

What’s the weekend plan! My answer would have been lying on bed and getting rid of the stress. But who said stress will go off if I sleep or remain lazy!! It took a lot of time to realize what am I losing by being lazy. This is one of those enlightening weekends. I had a corn surgically removed from my feet yesterday, and my leg is wrapped with bandage. I am not allowed to put pressure on my legs as there are stiches. So it is obvious that from yesterday I am lying on bed and watching TV, chatting with friends and talking over phone. Sounds like I am really having fun right!. But it’s not. I badly want to get up and walk, jump, run, ride my bike, exercise in gym everything. It’s just been 24 hours and I am already bored with my bed. Now that I am bored I got time to think about what I was doing and what I should have done!. Until day before yesterday I wanted all the time in the world to relax and be lazy on bed. That was kind of my retirement dream. I had always wondered about aged ...

In love with my ride

That’s my ride! that’s my ride!. Bangaloreans bikes are the best friends here right!!.. from going to office to meeting girlfriend and even for relaxing we need a bike.   Bikes are a part of our life. But the question is how much do we know about our bike? This one is my ride:   I don’t know much about the mechanism but I understand if my bike is unwell.. that is like really an amazing thing. When u feel itch in your throat you know that there is a cold coming.. same way I know when there is a   change in sound of the engine something is wrong with my bike. On odd days I don’t feel like going to work but the thought of riding bike makes me pull up myself and go to work J I know this is too much but that’s how it is. Long rides on bike are really really enjoyable. I had been to my native approximately 500 km and the solo ride was amazing. I just fell in love with my bike again. You race with people on highways you run y...

Mental Health and Social Media

“I am sick of being alone L ”,   “I hate myself” or similar very personal emotions are posted on social media nowadays. Even though this is not very age specific pattern but the majority of these posts come from teenagers. People get out of a relationship heart broken and the next immediate thing to do is to go and post on a social media site “u broke my heart”. Yes I agree that they are letting their frustration out, but they are ignoring the fact that someone else might read all these and misuse their emotionally low phase of life.                 One more factor we should see is the most of these social media out bursts also relate to certain mental dis orders.                 Larry Rosen, professor of psychology at California State University, Dominguez Hills, outlined the results of some recent research, which also points...
